Professional program of the festival

The rich professional program will focus on key topics related to the promotion, distribution, and creation of art films. The festival offers an opportunity for professional discussions, exchange of experiences, and networking.

October 9, 2024 – BorGO Cinema (Via Rastello 57/59, Gorizia, Italy)

• 10.00 – Professional meeting: Promotion and distribution of art films
A discussion with renowned experts such as: Giuliana Fantoni (President of the Italian Federation of Arthouse Cinema - FICE), Špela Pavli Perko (President of the Art Cinema Network of Slovenia - AKMS), Matevž Luzar (President of the Directors Guild of Slovenia - DSR), and Francesco Martinotti (President of the National Association of Filmmakers - ANAC). The meeting will address the role of various players in the distribution of arthouse films in cinemas.
• 14.00 – Presentation of the Istrian Film Commission
Special attention will be given to the presentation of the work and objectives of the Istrian Film Commission, which will showcase its efforts in the field of film production.
• 16.00 – Artistic-humanistic conversation: Transcending boundaries in art
Guest: Romanian director and poet Teona Galgotiu. The event will focus on the theme of transcending boundaries in art, promising an intriguing discussion about artistic expressions beyond national and cultural limits.

October 10, 2024 – Palazzo del Cinema – Hiša filma (Gorizia)

• 10.00 – Masterclass: Nicolas Philibert
The renowned French documentarian Nicolas Philibert will share his extensive experience and present his unique approach to documentary filmmaking. The masterclass will be an excellent opportunity to gain insight into his work, which has been exploring the contemporary world and creating intimate cinematic stories for over four decades.

October 11, 2024 – Palazzo del Cinema – Hiša filma (Gorizia)

• 13.00 – Masterclass: Editing in the post-Yugoslav context
Serbian editor Jelena Maksimović will discuss editing in the post-Yugoslav film context. With her extensive body of work, including over 60 feature and documentary films, she will present the freedom and diversity in her craft.
