October 9, 2024: Festival Wednesday with the Excursion and Visionaries Sections
The second day of the festival will start at 10:00 AM at BorGO Cinema in Gorizia with an industry meeting focused on the promotion and distribution of auteur films. This event will offer an opportunity for professionals to exchange experiences and delve into the challenges faced by the film industry. At 2:00 PM, the Istrian Film Commission will present, providing insights into regional and international film projects and opportunities for collaboration. The afternoon at BorGO Cinema will feature the opening of the Film Nodes – Ceau, Cinema! x Poklon Viziji installation at 3:00 PM, offering visitors a unique visual and virtual experience of film art. At 4:00 PM, literature will take the stage with the event Romania Between the Lines and Images, featuring a conversation in English with Romanian director and poet Teona Galgoțiu, who will discuss her work at the intersection of poetry and film.
At the Nova Gorica Cultural Center, contemporary Romanian short films will be showcased at 6:00 PM, followed by discussions with filmmakers, curator Antonio Dagostin, and Romanian film critic Ionuţ Mareş. The evening will continue with the short film The Man Who Could Not Remain Silent by Nebojša Slijepčević at 8:00 PM, with cinematographer Gregor Božič in attendance. This will be followed by a screening of the feature film Afterwar by Birgitte Stærmose, introduced by Stojan Pelko, the program director of the European Capital of Culture GO! 2025.
