October 10, 2024: Nicolas Philibert, This Year's Darko Bratina Award Recipient, Arrives at the Festival

The third day of the festival will focus on the work of Nicolas Philibert, this year's recipient of the Darko Bratina Award. At 10:00 AM, Philibert will lead a masterclass at the House of Cinema in Gorizia, sharing his filmmaking philosophy and creative process, which has earned him numerous awards and international recognition. Kinoatelje will then formally present him with the Darko Bratina Award, followed by a screening of his film Return to Normandy, providing an in-depth look at his work.

The afternoon program at 3:00 PM includes the thematic lecture Cinematic Views, which will explore the works of two filmmakers, Cecilia Mangini and Jože Pogačnik, through screenings and lectures by the section's curators, Mila Lazić and Žiga Brdnik. The competition program First Flights will continue at 5:30 PM with a selection of short films. The day’s film events will conclude with a screening of Nicolas Philibert’s On the Adamant. A social gathering at BorGO Cinema at 10:30 PM will mark a pleasant end to the third day of the festival.
