La briglia sul collo

Cecilia Mangini's lens is keenly focused on so-called marginalized groups. The protagonist of this film is Fabio Spada, a seven-year-old boy from the San Basilio neighborhood in Rome, considered a misfit at school. Fabio is a lonely and helpless child, yet he stands out for his immense creativity. He harbors no illusions: he does not believe in justice and seeks his own way to defend himself against the harshness of reality. His voice is joined by comments from those who know him: parents, psychologists, and school staff.
