Motivation

Mario Brenta is a filmmaker of precious essentiality and rigor. He confronts us with reality as an undisclosed truth, even though his sensitive yet relentless eye observes it in detail. The beauty of his works is expressed in the delicate perception of the state of things without comment, judgment, or other interference. As a notary of the visible, he is, at the same time, a scientist of the incomprehensible. He observes the world to understand it but also conveys that in both film and life, reality is deeper than our view. To many other filmmakers, his unobtrusive efforts have opened the way to training that was more a test of life than a school of art.
